Productivity is a pretty hot topic in today’s business arena. Everyone wants to do more in less time with good time management skills in order to be more productive. This can seem like an overwhelming and somewhat impossible task, especially if your schedule is already filled to the max. Some people don’t just stop after 5pm during the week. Students, parents, and business people often have social or professional engagements that require their time in the evening hours. However, there are a few simple ways you can be more productive in all areas of life.
Know you ending goals
If you don’t know what your business goals are or where you’re going, chances are you won’t get very far. Setting reachable goals and then working towards those goals is one of the best ways to be more productive. This can also be applied to productivity at home.
Make lists
There are so many distractions in today’s busy world that its almost impossible to remember every single thing you need to do each day and each week; especially in business. Whether you use an electronic calendar, a daily planner, or sticky notes you will be able to map out your productivity, and make sure you get all that needs to be done, completed.
Limit distractions
I’ve found that I am more productive if I simply shut down my email and social media when trying to complete a task. I will often turn off my phone as well so I won’t be tempted to waste time or get distracted. If you conduct business from home, try not to get distracted by people coming to your door, personal phone calls, dinner preparation, or household chores.
